Here’s a tasty recipe for Jalapeno Cheese Balls:

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pickled jalapenos (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped pickled jalapenos, chopped cilantro (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Take small portions of the cheese mixture and shape them into balls using your hands. You can make them bite-sized or larger, depending on your preference. Place the cheese balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. In one bowl, place the beaten eggs. In another bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip each chilled cheese ball into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  5. Roll the coated cheese ball in the breadcrumbs until it’s fully covered.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining cheese balls, coating each one with egg and breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat oil for frying in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
  8. Carefully add the coated cheese balls to the hot oil, in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.
  9. Once cooked, remove the cheese balls from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  10. Serve the Jalapeno Cheese Balls hot as a delicious appetizer or snack.

Enjoy the spicy and cheesy flavor of these crispy cheese balls with a hint of jalapeno!
