Ingredients:

For the garlic filling:

  • 8-10 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the mushroom balls:

  • 250 grams button mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • All-purpose flour for dredging
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the garlic filling by heating olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  3. Take each cleaned mushroom cap and fill it with a small amount of the garlic filling.
  4. Take a portion of the breadcrumb mixture and press it firmly around the filled mushroom to form a ball. Repeat with the remaining mushrooms and filling.
  5. Dip each mushroom ball into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  6. Roll the coated mushroom ball in flour to lightly coat the outside.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
  8. Carefully add the coated mushroom balls to the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 3-4 minutes.
  9. Once cooked, remove the mushroom balls from the oil and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  10. Serve the Garlic Filled Mushroom Balls hot as a delicious appetizer or snack.
