Here’s a recipe for Veg Dahi Kebabs, which are delicious and creamy:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hung curd (strained yogurt)
  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup grated paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers (red, green, yellow)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour or chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Bread crumbs for coating
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine hung curd, mashed potatoes, grated paneer, chopped bell peppers, chopped onions, green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, cornflour or chickpea flour, garam masala, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small, flat round kebabs.
  3. Roll each kebab in bread crumbs, ensuring they are coated evenly.
  4. Heat oil in a shallow frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, place the kebabs in the pan and shallow fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  6. Once done, remove the kebabs from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the Veg Dahi Kebabs hot with mint chutney or any sauce of your choice.
