Here’s a simple recipe for crispy cheese fingers:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favourite melting cheese)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminium foil.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. This will be your breading mixture.
- Take the shredded cheese and shape it into finger-sized sticks, about 2-3 inches long.
- Dip each cheese stick into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s well-coated.
- Roll the cheese stick in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- Place the coated cheese sticks on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each stick.
- Lightly spray or brush the cheese sticks with cooking spray or olive oil. This will help them brown and crisp up in the oven.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the coating is golden and crispy.
- Allow the cheese sticks to cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or your favourite dipping sauce.
Enjoy your crispy cheese fingers as a delicious snack or appetizer!
